Welcome to the Town of Brookneal

The Town of Brookneal has been a center for commerce for the surrounding counties of Campbell, Charlotte, and Halifax since it's founding in 1802. Journey down U.S. Route 501 south from Lynchburg and you will find the smallest incorporated town in the Central Virginia Region, Brookneal, Virginia. The town provides a full range of services, but more importantly it is a community. A place where people still know and care about each other, a place where frenzied activity does not take the place of quality of life, and a place determined not to lose the best of the past, but focused on the possibilities of the future.

Brookneal's heritage lies not in great battles or historic events, but in the quiet dignity and patient courage of families living, loving, prospering, and building a future in spite of any obstacle they encounter. Brookneal celebrated it's two hundredth anniversary in 2002, and it still remains a real community, and it anticipates a bright future.

Welcome to our town, make yourself at home, and don't hesitate to stop by the Town Hall (find the flags on Main St.) if we can help you.
