Waller, Clerk/Treasurer
The Clerk/Treasurer is appointed
by council and is responsible for carrying out the policies as set forth
by town council.
This office collects and accounts
for all funds received and disbursed, manages town investments, assists
auditors, bill and collects taxes, utility payments, vehicle decals, and
other miscellaneous payments. The Clerk/Treasurer is also responsible
for payroll and accounts payable.
In addition, the Clerk/Treasurer
handles all benefits for town employees such as retirement, health
insurance, and other supplemental insurances.
The Clerk/Treasurer supervises
and assists the Town Manager with fiscal year budgets.

Chief of Police
The Brookneal Police Department
is a professional, fully trained, small town police department. The
intention of this site is to better inform the public of their services
and open up another form of communication for the citizenry.
The BPD is a four-officer
department which handles everything from parking complaints to serious
felonies, such as drug investigations.
House Checks
- The Brookneal Police will regularly check houses for citizens if they
are out of town, away on vacation, business, etc.
Business Checks
- Our officers check the town's businesses on foot both while they are
open and after they close. If a problem is found the owner or their
designee is contacted.

Director of Public Works& Interim Town Manager
The Public Works Director is responsible for overseeing street and
sidewalk maintenance, management of the storm water runoff system, and
water and sewer services in the town limits. Curbside household garbage
is collected free of charge within the corporate limits each week. The
Public Works Department also handles utility service problems such as
low water pressure, sewer backups, leaks on public property, requests
for utility taps, or other service related items.
